The BRAVO AWARD recognizes individuals who enable the arts to flourish in an increasingly challenging environement. Through this award, Apple Tree applauds the contribution that talented people have made to the quality of life in our community.
This award is given anually at our Spring Gala.
Amy B. Amdur is president and founder of Amdur Productions. Founded in 1984, Amdur Productions is a nationally acclaimed arts festival production company that organizes and directs eight of Chicagoland's most prestigious and successful juried summer art fairs, including: Promenade of Art Arlington Heights; Cantigny Sculpture & Fine Art Festival; Lincolnshire Art Festival; Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival; Gold Coast Art Fair Chicago; Art at the Glen Town Center; Port Clinton Art Festival and Lakeview East Fine Art Festival.
An art lover at an early age, Amdur participated in her first art festival when she was just six-years old. Since, she has gone on to annually produce highly acclaimed and well-attended summer art fairs, including the Port Clinton Art Festival and the Gold Coast Art Fair – consistently ranked as some of the top festivals in the United States by Sunshine Artist: America 's Premier Show and Festival Magazine.
A supporter of many outstanding charities, including the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation at the University of Chicago Hospitals, Amdur also is an avid speaker and art consultant. In 2000, Amdur joined forces with the Merchandise Mart to annually produce the One of A Kind Show and Sale . In addition, Amdur publishes the Art Annual, a full-color bound catalogue featuring 200 pages of more than 1,800 gorgeous images of work from festival artists, and is a featured writer in various trade publications. |
