Apple Tree's 25th Spring Gala Raises Over $100,000 and Honors Founder Eileen Boevers
A Beautiful Evening with Mayor Belsky, Stage Star Hollis Resnik, and TV Personalities Mary Ann Childers and Jay Levine
Apple Tree Theatre celebrated 25 years of artistic brilliance and honored retiring founder Eileen Boevers at a poignant and inspiring evening on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Highland Park Country Club. Hosted by celebrity Chicago TV personalities Mary Ann Childers and Jay Levine, the event featured dazzling entertainment by singer Hollis Resnik and a proclamation honoring Eileen by Highland Park Mayor, Michael Belsky. Board President Bob Wieseneck presented the theatre's esteemed “Bravo Award” to Eileen, followed by a musical salute featuring former Apple Tree Theatre Troupe Members including Broadway performers Marci Heisler, Jessica (Boevers) Bogart and Sam Samuelson. She received the Bravo Award for her extraordinary contribution and exemplary commitment to the arts for over 38 years.
Managing Director Mark Weston expressed gratitude to the attendees and the many who made the evening a success and discussed how Apple Tree will continue to build on what Eileen Boevers created by continuing to produce the best theatre on the North Shore and provide the best youth programming in performance arts.
